Reviewer: casualshopper,
I ended up with this camera after a lot of reviewing on the internet. I haven't used it that much, because I was confused on what type of SDHC to buy. Since this is a 2009 camera, SDHC standards have changed since then. For example they would recommend a Class 4 or higher to record HD movies, but after talking with technical service (quick response by the way)they told me that they would recommend a CLASS 6 SDHC FLASHCARD. Class 10 would not work on this camera. So, be careful when shopping for your card. I will post later when I have used it a little bit more.

Camera is light, and I find better to have manual controls instead of the touch screen (personal preference)
Best camera ever - be sure to get the right SD card

Reviewer: normdragonfarm,
This Camera is quite simply the best thing I have ever purchased. I love the picture, the interface, the features and even the sound quality. As an aspiring filmmaker this does exactly what I need it to do. If I am allowed one nit pick it is this. Most SD cards that are supposed to support full 1920X1080 HD do not seem to work on this camera when shooting in full 1920X1080 HD. I have only found one card which supports all picture qualities on this camera. This is not a huge problem but it is annoying especially when this particular SD card is so difficult to find. Even Amazon does not seem to have it sometimes.

If you want to buy this camera, and I strongly recommend you do, Be sure to include this particular SD card. The Sandisk Extreme III (3) Class 6 SDHC card. You must be careful when looking for this card. It must be exactly as it says on this review. Sometimes amazon will have the correct picture but it might be the incorrect card. Avoid any class other than class 6 and avoid the basic Extreme. It must be Extreme III and nothing else. Storage capacity is not too important depending upon your preference but I would recommend at least 16 GB. That will give you a good hour and a half at full HD and about four hours of lower HD.

I hope this does not discourage you from buying this camera. Once you have the proper SD card you will be extremely pleased, no pun intended.
great camcorder

Problem with cold temperatures? Cover lens not close & camara not work

Reviewer: semiosis22,
I had this camera for a while. My concern with this camcorder is that it seems didn't work at low temperatures (and I don't mention too low). Once lens cover didn't close, camara didn't allow to power off, so I take away the battery. But it didn't solve the problem and started to make a noise. So I'll send to service. They fixed it. Two month later the situation was the same. Go to service again. Right now I'm in the same situation for the 3rd time... So I write this to share with Amazon people for advise or help.
I love this camera

Reviewer: jgorm,
I had one of the original JVC harddrive cameras and was so unhappy with the picture and the cumbersome transfer of data. I love this camera, the picture is amazing and the SD card portability is soooooo easy. I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for a great home owner vid cam.
