I have went through so many portable camcorders

Reviewer: Ashley,
I have had the bloggie, the webbie, the flip, a panasonic one, a aiptek one, a kodak one, I have had ALOT and I must say.. this is my FAVE of them all.. The quality on here is amazing.. the only drawback is the zoom is not that far at all so if you need zoom then you will want to pass on this one but if you dont need long distance zoom then you should snatch this baby up. another drawback is file size.. I bought xhilisoft HD converter and converted my movies to high quality .wmv files that way I could share and not lose much quality but no one wants a 5 minute video that is 3gb in size.. thats just ridiculous so you gotta resize the files and reformat but that does take some time.. so I guess its just up to you if you want to spend the time on all this but you do get the best quality with this camera.
AWESOME!

It is what you pay for it. Takes some time for it to focus when zoom used.
Don't even think about it!

Reviewer: William E. Hornibrook,
I noticed that these are still available and just want to warn people to not be seduced with steep discounts on this absolutely horrible camcorder. I suffered with mine for a year before finally replacing it recently. Throughout the whole year I watched others get much better results with Flips, Kodaks, and anything else.

I originally thought that because it is a Sony and has a variable focus lens it would an upgrade from the usual pocketcams. Wrong! It's constantly hunting for focus and to make matters worse you can't lock it.

But that's just the start of it's problems. Large areas of things like grass or sand are treated in blocks that shift and move in your vids like you are in an earthquake. Anything made up of straight lines like house siding will curve and dance before your eyes in a surreal fashion.

Low light performance is non-existant. In a trip back East last summer I missed my nephews skateboarding at dusk in a shot than anything else would have picked up. I'll never get that moment back. The next time I see them they will be driving.

Audio will distort in any kind of loud environment. The PNB software is the worst thing I've ever put into my computer.

To sum it up, the Sony Webbie is the worst electronic device that I've ever purchased. It's soured me on the whole brand. I replaced mine with a Sanyo and am much happier, but if you don't like Sanyos get a Flip, Kodak, Canon, Panasonic - anything but a Sony!
Really disappointed with Sony

Reviewer: Kiddo,
I am very upset with this purchase. I tried to get this camcorder ready for an event this morning. No luck! It froze 5 times within an hour and kept giving me format error readings. I would format the card and it would work for a few minutes, then show up again. Extremely disappointed with this and it will be sent back. I didn't expect much based on the price but did think it would at least work. I just wanted it to capture video while I was on the go with my kids--at parks, family events, and such. I would not recommend this product at all!
